LING 100-170 are Intensive English Language Program (IELP) courses. The IELP is a series off Intensive courses for non-native speakers designed to develop the student's competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for academic purposes. There are six levels: Low Beginning, High Beginning, Low-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, and Advanced. Full-time students register for 14 credits. Special admission to the IELP is available for non-PSU students. New students need to contact the IELP for placement and registration information at least 2 weeks prior to the term. All registration for IELP courses is done through the IELP.

LING 390 is a prerequisite for all 400-level and above Linguistics courses except for LING 492 & LING 4/571 which can be taken concurrently with LING 390.

NOTE: Students who miss the first session of any Linguistics class and fail to notify the instructor may be dropped from the course.
